Kaduna State Hisbah Command has supported the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) being conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), describing it as a vital step to strengthening Nigeria’s democracy.
This was contained in a statement signed yesterday by its commander, Malam Abdullahi Bayero.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Bayero charged eligible Nigerians to take advantage of the exercise, which includes new registrations, transfers, corrections of personal details and other related updates.
“This process is fundamental to ensuring that every eligible citizen can participate meaningfully in the electoral system,” he said.
Bayero particularly urged young Nigerians who have recently turned 18 to seize the opportunity and register as first time voters.
“Registering to vote is not only a constitutional right but also a civic responsibility that empowers the citizens to shape the future of our nation,” he stated.
He appealed to parents, guardians, community leaders, civil society groups, and religious institutions to support and mobilise sensitisation efforts across the state.
