Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has said the state is committed to delivering victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) at all levels during the 2027 general elections.
Yusuf made the declaration during an interactive session with elected and appointed government officials at the Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature, the governor said Kano would lead other states in mobilising support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Yusuf said the APC administration in Kano had no apology for supporting Tinubu, describing the President’s second-term ambition as a collective responsibility of party members and government officials.
He directed all political appointees serving in his administration who were yet to register as APC members to do so immediately, stressing that every elected and appointed official must identify with the party and contribute to strengthening its structures ahead of 2027.
The governor also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring the party’s victory in the presidential, governorship, National Assembly, State Assembly and local government elections.
As part of measures to motivate political office holders, Yusuf approved the allocation of plots of land to over 300 political aides, including Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, Senior Special Reporters, Special Reporters and Personal Assistants.
He also approved the payment of N100,000 to each beneficiary.
Speaking at the meeting, the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Ismail Falgore, said the APC would continue to highlight the achievements of the Tinubu administration in the state.
Falgore said constituency projects executed by lawmakers, with the support of the governor, had boosted the party’s acceptance among residents.
The Kano State APC Chairman, Umar Doguwa, said the party was ready for the political contest ahead, adding that “the battle line has been drawn” with the Kwankwasiyya movement.
Doguwa expressed confidence that the APC would emerge victorious in the 2027 elections.
At the end of the meeting, the officials passed a vote of confidence on Tinubu and Yusuf, while pledging to intensify grassroots mobilisation and work collectively for the success of the party in the forthcoming elections.
