The Kano State House of Assembly has extended the suspension of the Chairmen of Rogo, Bagwai and Bebeji Local Government Areas by an additional three months.
The House also granted a further three-month extension to the ad hoc committee constituted to investigate the allegations against the three chairmen.
It will be recalled that the Assembly, under the leadership of its Speaker, Alhaji Jibril Isma’il Falgore, had earlier suspended the chairmen following petitions alleging violation of due process and administrative procedures.
In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Kano State House of Assembly, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, the Speaker gave the committee three months to conduct a thorough investigation and present its report to the House.
With the expiration of the initial period, the House has now extended both the suspension of the chairmen and the committee’s mandate by another three months, to enable the committee to further examine the petitions, conclude its investigation, and submit its report to the House within the next three months.
