A private hospital, Best Choice Specialist Hospital, Kano, has acquired the latest Portable Endoscopy Machine, the first of its kind in the state.
The chairman of the Hospital, Auwal Muhammad Lawal, made the disclosure to journalists in Kano.
He said the latest multi-million naira machine, which will ease surgery in ENT cases, Urology, Kidney, Fibroids, diagnosis for ulcer and cancer, is an addition to the series of state-of-the-art equipment in the hospital.
According to Lawal, the health facility, which is second to none in Kano, is not only stocked up with equipment but also adequate staff as it presently boasts of 20 permanent medical doctors, with numerous specialists frequenting the hospital.
“We have just brought into Kano, a machine which is not common, and ours is the latest.
“With this machine, our services will further improve and the number of referrals we get from all over the state due to high quality of services we offer will further increase,” he stated.
Lawal recalled that the hospital located at Sabuwar Gandu area of Kano metropolis, started with not more than four bed spaces and now can boast of 50 bed spaces with VIP rooms.
“When we started, we were talking about four beds. Our passion was how to help our people looking at their suffering when it comes to access to standard health facilities.
“We were never deterred by obstacles, today we have grown to having 50 bed spaces with VIPs and sections such as Obstetric and Gynaecology, Pediatrics, Cardiology/internal medicine.”
“We also have neonatal special care unit, Urology, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) and Orthopedic department and all these are at affordable price.
“The efforts we have put in place over the years have gone a long way in complementing government’s efforts at providing employment for youth in the state looking at our number of doctors and other staff,” he added.
