The Kano State Fire Service has rescued a 15-year-old boy who fell into a Dam in Ghari local government area of the State.
The incident occurred on Saturday, December 13, 2025, around noon, according to a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Service, ACFO Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, on Sunday.
The statement said the Service received a distress call at about 12:00 pm from a resident, Usman Garba, reporting that a boy had fallen into the water at the dam.
“Men of the Kano State Fire Service from Gari Fire Station responded promptly to the call,” the statement said.
On arrival at the scene, firefighters discovered that the victim, identified as Yusuf Danliti, had already fallen into the open water. He was rescued unconscious and later handed over to the village head of the area, Lawan Zangina, for further necessary action.
The Director of the Kano State Fire Service, Alhaji Sani Anas, used the opportunity to warn parents and guardians to be more vigilant over their children and wards.
He cautioned against allowing children to swim in open water, noting that such activities “have continued to result in loss of lives.”
The Service reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property across Kano State.
