President Bola Tinubu has commended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, for maintaining peace and stability in the state amid the political crisis that rocked his administration.
Tinubu gave the commendation on Saturday during the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 presidential campaign rally in Rivers State.
The president praised Fubara for demonstrating maturity, understanding and respect for the intervention by elders during the crisis, which he attributed to a misunderstanding within the political family.
He also acknowledged the governor’s decision to accept the intervention and maintain peace in the state.
“To me, I intervened on your behalf. Similarly, to Fubara, Your Excellency, the host governor of today, I want to thank you specifically for maturity, understanding, respect for the wisdom of elders.
“When we intervened, you respected our position. You maintained peace. You are a committed democrat, Fubara. You will not regret what you have done as long as all of us are alive,” Tinubu said.
The president also thanked Nigerian youths for their role in maintaining peace, urging them to sustain the commitment to stability.
