The Kano State Government has inaugurated a high-powered committee to coordinate activities marking the third anniversary of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration.

The committee was inaugurated on behalf of the governor by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Umar Faruk Ibrahim, at the Cabinet Office Conference Hall in Kano.

In a statement issued on Saturday by the governor’s Press Secretary, Musa Tanko Muhammad, the state government said the committee would organise programmes aimed at showcasing the achievements recorded by the administration over the past three years.

Speaking during the inauguration, Ibrahim said the anniversary celebration should be broad-based and attract prominent personalities from within and outside the state.

According to him, the administration has fulfilled a significant number of its campaign promises, particularly in sectors that directly affect residents’ lives.

“The anniversary celebration will provide an opportunity to showcase the giant strides of the Gida Gida administration in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, environment, rural development and good governance,” he said.

The SSG, who also chairs the committee, stressed the importance of effective publicity and proper documentation of all activities scheduled for the event.

He disclosed that a commemorative brochure highlighting the administration’s achievements would also be produced as part of efforts to preserve records of the milestone celebration.
