Kano State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has said arrangements are in top gear to host the Union’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting next week.
According to a statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the council, comrade Sulaiman Dederi, and the secretary, Abubakar Kwaru, the meeting will be held between Monday, 11th August, and Wednesday, 13th August, 2025.
The statement maintained that participants would come from thirty-six states and the federal capital Territory, Abuja, with guests expected to arrive on Monday, August 11th.
According to the statement, other activities during the event include a media tour of the state government projects sites, courtesy visits and a media parley with His Excellency the Executive Governor, an NEC meeting (Technical), and a Dinner/Award night.
“The participants are expected to depart on Wednesday, August 13th, as the National President of the NUJ, comrade Alhassan Yahya, will meet Kano veteran journalists on the same day.
While praying for a safe trip for the participants, the statement appreciated the support of Governor Abba Yusuf and the state commissioner of information, Comrade Ibrahim Waiya, for their efforts towards making the hosting right a reality.
