Nigeria Premier Football League side Kano Pillars have announced a sweeping restructuring of their technical and administrative departments following a disappointing 2025–26 campaign that saw the club narrowly avoid relegation.

The club confirmed that all existing technical and support staff attached to both Junior Pillars and the Under-19 team have been relieved of their duties as part of a comprehensive reorganisation aimed at repositioning the club for future success.

The decision was approved by General Manager Ahmed Musa following a management meeting held on Monday.

In a statement, the club explained that the restructuring forms part of broader efforts to improve efficiency, strengthen professionalism and align the organisation with modern football management standards.

The shake-up also affects various committees and support personnel across the club’s structure, with the dissolution taking immediate effect.

Kano Pillars have subsequently invited qualified candidates to apply for vacant positions through the club’s secretariat as preparations begin for the 2026–27 season.

The four-time NPFL champions endured a difficult campaign and only secured their top-flight status on the final day of the season. Their narrow escape from relegation prompted widespread calls for reforms from supporters and stakeholders, many of whom have expressed concerns over the club’s recent performances.

Management believes the latest restructuring will provide the foundation for a fresh start and help restore the club’s status as one of Nigeria’s most competitive football institutions.

Attention will now turn to recruitment and rebuilding efforts as the Sai Masu Gida seek a significant improvement in fortunes next season.
