Kano Records 205 Deaths In Road Crashes

Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kano State Sector Command, has recorded 205 fatalities in 231 road crashes in 2023.

The public enlightenment officer of the command, Labaran Abdullahi, stated this at the briefing of journalists on the command’s operational activities for 2023.

According to him, of the cases investigated, 76 were classified as fatal, involving 1,656 victims, noting that, among these victims, 759 sustained varying degrees of injuries.

He said the Kano command has successfully rescued 692 victims from road traffic crashes within the year under review and also documented a total of 33,324 road traffic offenders who committed 35,649 traffic offences in the state, noting that a number of educated offenders accounted for 32,752 cases.

Labaran said the command conducted 33 mobile court proceedings, with 1,129 individuals arraigned of which 931 were convicted, while 198 were discharged and acquitted.
