Men, women and children, dressed in beautiful attires, participated in the processions, chanting songs of praise in honour of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), thousands of Muslims converged on major streets, filling the city with processions carrying banners and flags.

Islamic scholars delivered sermons highlighting the Prophet’s virtues and encouraging the faithful to emulate his lifestyle of humility, peace, and compassion.

The celebrants, organised in groups, moved in vibrant processions through the streets of Kano, chanting melodious songs of praise in honour of Prophet Muhammad.

Malam Abubakar Mohammed of Unguwar Waibai called on the Muslims to emulate the lifestyle of Prophet Muhammad, describing him as a man of peace, love, humility, and justice.

He says, “By following the Prophet’s teachings, Muslims can cultivate these noble qualities and live in harmony with others.”

Malam Musa Isa of Tauroni Quarters, described the Prophet’s birthday as a moment of reflection, reminding the Muslims to strengthen their faith and commitment to Islamic teachings.

The residents expressed joy over the peaceful conduct of the celebration, which has become an annual tradition in Kano, a prominent centre of Islamic scholarship and culture.

NAN also observed that there was heavy security presence that ensured a hitch-free celebration, with patrol vehicles and personnel stationed at strategic points. ( NAN)
