In a letter addressed to Rt. Hon. Ismail Falgore, speaker of Kano State House of Assembly, Governor Abba Yusuf sought for the House resolution to facilitate the recovery of the funds owe Kano State from January 1999 till date.

In the letter read on the floor of the House during Tuesday’s plenary, the Governor said the lawmakers’ resolution on the matter would facilitate the necessary process for the review, reconciliation, and recovery of the accrued funds.

He noted that when recovered, the dividend will bolster the financial standing of the state and enable government to address critical development priorities for the benefit of the people.

Responding on the letter, Majority leader of the House, Lawan Husseini, stressed that the resolution of the house is key to accessing the monies, explaining that, it will enable the forum of governors take up the necessary consultancy for the funds to be remitted back to states.
