Following the declaration of indefinite strike by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC), which commenced midnight on Sunday, civil servants in Kano State, on Monday, complied with the order.

Both the Federal Secretariat and the State Secretariat (Audu Bako Secretariat) visited by our reporter on Monday remained under lock and key.

The usually busy and bustling facilities were deserted as civil servants stayed away from their offices.

However, the usual business activities in the markets continue in Kano. The IBB market, Kwari Textile market, Rimi market and the Farm Center Phone market visited by this reporter were all full of life with activities going on.

At the Aminu Kano International Airport, only the flights carrying pilgrims were allowed to operate while all other flights were suspended.
