The tests will guide reappointments and ensure a merit-based approach to school leadership, promoting dedicated and sound leadership in schools.

The state commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Zainab Musawa, disclosed this in Katsina while briefing newsmen on the state’s performance in the 2024 National Examination Council (NECO) exams.

Musawa further explained that the ministry plans to reintroduce mandatory prep classes for all final-year students with special coaching in Mathematics and English.

While emphasising the recent performance of students on the NECO exam, she said the state ranked sixth nationally in the number of students who passed the exam with five credits and above, including Mathematics and English, which is a staggering achievement.
