He noted that Katsina State has remained a strong advocate of empowering young people through capacity-building programmes, leadership exposure, and civic engagement.
The four-day plenary session will bring together youth parliamentarians from all states to deliberate on key national issues, present motions, review committee reports, and engage stakeholders on youth-focused policies. The sitting will also provide an opportunity for members to interact with state officials, community leaders, and policymakers to strengthen collaboration toward national development.
Governor Radda—known for his administration’s investments in security reforms, education, economic empowerment, and rural transformation—is expected to deliver a keynote address at the opening session, where the legislative agenda for the sitting will be outlined.
The Speaker expressed appreciation to the Katsina State Government for agreeing to host the Parliament, describing it as a gesture that will inspire young leaders and deepen Nigeria’s democratic culture. He further noted that the plenary would serve as a strategic platform to amplify the voices of young Nigerians and promote constructive legislative engagement.
The Second Plenary Sitting is expected to feature committee presentations, parliamentary debates, policy roundtables, outreach events, and a range of other activities.
With preparations in top gear, the Nigerian Youth Parliament reaffirmed its commitment to championing youth concerns and partnering with governments at all levels to advance national progress.
