Kebbi Approves N1.7bn For Rehabilitation Of Health Centres

Kebbi State Executive Council (SEC) has approved N1.7 billion for the rehabilitation of 21 additional primary health centres (PHCs) in the state.

Commissioner of Information and Culture, Yakubu Ahmed, disclosed this during a press briefing in Birnin Kebbi.

Other approvals include the rehabilitation and modifications of the Martha Bamaiyi General Hospital, Zuru, at N926 million released and another N1,000,000,000 as the counterpart funds to the Rural Access And Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) and seed funding for the take-off of the Kebbi State Rural Access Roads Agency (RARA).

The council also approved N500 million as counterpart funds to enable Kebbi State to participate in and benefit from the SPIN World Bank project.

Similarly, N975 million was also earmarked to provide electricity, water and other essential commodities for residents of Birnin Kebbi.

The commissioner expressed the readiness of Governor Nasir Idris to transform all sectors with developmental projects that impact the livelihood of the people.
