Kebbi State governor, Dr Nasir Idris has condoled with the families of three persons killed by flood at Dakingari, the headquarters of Suru local government area.
Idris advised members of the affected families as well as the local government area to accept the will of God in good faith.
The governor also sympathised with others who sustained injuries and those whose houses were affected.
He donated N40 million to the victims with an instruction that N500,000 be given to each of the families which lost their husbands or relatives.
Governor Idris also directed the council chairman to set up a committee to distribute the money to the affected victims.
He said the state government through the Ministry of Works in collaboration with the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy would work toward finding a lasting solution to the menace.
According to the governor, the best way to tackle the lingering problem is to construct a channel at the flood prone areas that will facilitate free flow of water into the rivers.
Over 315 houses were affected by the flood in the area.
Similarly, the governor had a stopover at Rijiya Maikabbi village in Dandi local government area to sympathise with another set of flood victims and donated N10 million to them.
