Wife of the Kebbi State governor, Dr Nafisa Nasir Idris, has flagged off the distribution of Ready-to- Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF)/Ton Brown Nutritionist Commodities to some hospitals in the state.
The programme is being implemented by the Kebbi State government in collaboration with the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRM) to the state’s eight hospitals.
At the event held at the Malaria Control Unit in Birnin Kebbi yesterday, Mrs Idris commended development partners and her husband for their commitment to improving healthcare programmes across the state.
She said the intervention would strengthen the efforts to eradicate malnutrition among children and promote healthier lives.   She urged mothers and caregivers to ensure the proper use of the commodities to achieve the desired objectives.
According to her, the Commodities will be distributed to eight general hospitals in Aleiro, Augie, Argungu, Bunza, Shanga, Gwandu, Koko/Besse and Bagudo local government areas of the state.
