According to the authorities, Rabi’u Umar, 20, and Nasiru Hussaini, 26, were apprehended on October 30, 2025, along Bena-Ribah road, while Lawwali Ibrahim was arrested on November 3, 2025, at Bakin Mashaya area, Dolekaina, with a large cache of ammunition.

“The suspects have confessed to smuggling the arms into Nigeria from Mokassa town, Benin Republic,” said commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M Sani. “We remain resolute in our efforts to combat banditry, kidnapping, and other violent crimes in the state.”

In a related development, joint police and vigilante teams neutralised a suspected Lakurawa bandit and recovered a Tecno GSM handset in Yeldu, following an invasion of Kwagware village by armed bandits.

“We are working to restore normalcy, apprehend and neutralize the fleeing members of the terror group, and prevent reprisal attacks,” said CSP Nafiu Abubakar, Police Public Relations Officer.

The commissioner of Police has directed the combined security team to intensify efforts to eliminate the terror group and maintain synergy to ensure the total eradication of crime in the state.
