Kebbi State government in collaboration with the Nasare Nasir Idris Foundation owned by the wife of the governor, Hajiya Nasare Nasir Idris and an Abuja-based private hospital, Nizamiye Hospital has provided free medical treatment for about 2,000 patients suffering from different diseases but could not afford medication.

At the flag-off of the programme at Kebbi Medical Centre Kalgo, Governor Nasir Idris, who was represented by the head of service (HoS), Safiyanu Garba-Bena, appreciated the 22-man team of medical experts who sacrificed their time and left their comfortable hospital in Abuja in order to assist Kebbi people.

He reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to providing quality and affordable healthcare services through well-tailored programmes, including state-of-the-art medical equipment, recruitment of medical doctors, nurses and other medical personnel as well as the expansion of hospitals and clinics.

He described the efforts of his wife, Hajiya Nasare Nasir Idris, as commendable, saying: “It goes on to herald the beginning of effective healthcare delivery in the state.”

The leader of the medical team, Prof Ibrahim Yanmis said Nizamiye Hospital was known for offering excellent services to its clients and promised to use their expertise and machineries to provide quality service to the people of Kebbi State.
