Kogi State Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) has announced a two-day strategic top management retreat aimed at strengthening institutional capacity, enhancing performance, and fostering proactive regulatory leadership.

In a statement issued yesterday, the commission’s spokesperson, Alhaji Ali Atabor, said the retreat focused on key objectives including performance reflection and alignment, skill and knowledge enhancement, as well as deepening strategic thinking and policy development.

According to the statement, participants will engage in intensive sessions covering critical areas such as electricity tariff design in volatile market conditions, electricity value chain and performance measurement, regulatory compliance culture and dispute resolution, and strengthening financial oversight within the electricity market.

The chairman and chief executive officer of KERC, Engr. Ibrahim Sunday Abbdwaaris, is expected to deliver the opening address, outlining the purpose of the retreat as a platform to engage staff, build targeted capacity, and effectively plan the Commission’s regulatory activities for the year.
