As he continues to innovate and inspire, Kezie there’s a new name buzzing around – Kezie Kana, a Nigerian-based World and Afrobeat artist. With his stage name Kezie Kana, and born as Amadi Kennedy Urantar, he is a testament to the power of cultural fusion in music, bringing a fresh perspective to the global music scene.

 

Early Beginnings and Cultural Roots

Kezie Kana’s journey into the realm of music and arts was almost predestined, considering his rich family heritage. Born to Amadi Emeka Urantar, a textile designer, and a mother who was not only a fashion enthusiast but also a dancer, Kana had the perfect blend of artistic influences right from his early years. This exposure propelled him into the world of entertainment, first as a dancer in his parent’s cultural troupe, and later as an urban fashion model and choreographer for the legendary Urban Fashion.

 

The Birth of a Visionary Artist

Kana’s artistic journey took a significant turn between 2016 and 2018 when he became an urban model for MDLS fashion, an acronym for ‘Make Them Love Swag’. This period marked not only his foray into fashion but also the crystallization of his vision to innovate traditional African music. His aim? To bridge the cultural gap between his Nigerian audience and potential listeners in the United States.

 

The Journey of Musical Evolution

As part of the National Carnival Dance Band Black Gold in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria, Kana honed his skills in traditional dance and music. This experience laid the groundwork for his unique style, which blends traditional African rhythms with contemporary world music elements. His journey in the music industry, which commenced five years ago, has been marked by a continuous evolution and a dedication to exploring new artistic avenues.

 

A New Wave in the Music Scene

Kezie Kana’s latest single “SOBER”, is a reflection of his artistic growth. Available on major platforms, this single not only showcases his musical prowess but also his ability as a storyteller. His music is not just a set of melodies and rhythms; it’s a narrative of his journey, experiences, and cultural heritage.
