It has been nearly a year since kidnappers attacked the residence of Oije Alade Abih at No 5 Church Road New Karu in an attempt to kill him because of the information he provided to the Police leading to their hideout.

Recently, on January 1, 2025 at about 1am, some men in black, suspected to be the same terrorists, came to the residence of Oije Alade Abih, at No 5 Church Road New Karu local government area of Nasarawa State and burnt down the house, making the people living in the area to run for their lives, with no death recorded.

LEADERSHIP reports that the investigation is ongoing. It was also confirmed that Oije Abih has not been seen in the environment for over a year now.

Recall that on January 22, 2024, Oije was traced to his residence at No: 5, Church Road, New Karu in Karu Local Government of Nasarawa State, by alleged kidnappers to kill him but narrowly escaped through the backdoor.

Back in 2023, kidnappers, suspected to be Fulani terrorists, abducted Oije Alade Abih and other passengers travelling from Abuja to Benue State on 10 December 2023 but released them on 18 December 2023 after paying a ransom of N20million.

Three passengers who could not pay the ransom were killed by the kidnappers.

Upon release, Oije had a media chat on 21 January 2024 about the incident and also informed the Police about the general insecurity in the Agatu local government area of Benue State, where he hails from.

Oije was traced to his residence because during the kidnap saga, the ransom was paid to the abductors at his house through his younger brother, Inalegwu John Abih, and it was believed that the kidnappers had marked his residence.

Oije had lamented that due to the threats to his life by the abductors because they had already identified him as responsible for providing security personnel with their identity and location, the police had to evacuate him to safety.

He was taken to Goshen City Winners Chapel at kilometre 24, Abuja-Keffi highway and later to Dunamis International Gospel Centre away from the prying eyes of those who wanted to kill him.

Oije was said to have sold his lands and goats he was rearing, got some financial assistance from friends and relatives, and added to his savings to pay the ransom.
