After three days in the den of kidnappers, the abducted Lagos State chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Philip Aivoji yesterday regained his freedom from his abductors.
In a terse statement issued and signed yesterday morning by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Omotola Odutola said Aivoji was released at the early hours of Monday and has been reunited with his family.
Though details of his release were not disclosed, particularly regarding the N200 Million ransom demanded by the abductors, the statement issued by Odutola said efforts are on top gear to track down the kidnappers and possibly bring them to justice.
LEADERSHIP recall that the Lagos PDP Chairman, Aivoji was kidnapped last Thursday in the Ogere area of Ogun on the Ibadan-Lagos expressway while returning from the PDP South-West zonal meeting in Ibadan, Oyo State along with nine other commuters, who were rescued by the security operatives during a gun battle with the hoodlums.
