The Kogi State House of Assembly has confirmed the reappointment of Barr. Mohammed Tanko Musa as chairman of the State Civil Service Commission, alongside three permanent commissioners.
The permanent commissioners are Hon. Abdulmumuni Olowo (Permanent Commissioner I), Hon. Isah Oludohun (Permanent Commissioner II), and Hon. Odah Godwin (Permanent Commissioner III).

Their confirmation followed the nomination of the appointees by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and subsequent screening at the Assembly complex in Lokoja on Thursday.

Speaking after their confirmation, Barr. Tanko, who was reappointed after completing his first tenure, expressed gratitude to God, Governor Ododo, and members of the Assembly for the confidence reposed in him.

He also appreciated former Governor Yahaya Bello for first appointing him to the position in 2020.
The reappointed Chairman pledged to continue prioritizing the welfare of civil servants through regular promotions, improved working conditions, and prompt cash backing for approved benefits.

“My responsibility is recruitment, appointment, promotion, and discipline of civil servants. We will ensure that Kogi civil servants wear smiling faces through timely promotions and improved incentives. I will continue to plead with His Excellency to back promotions with financial benefits so that workers can truly feel the impact.”

Presiding over the sitting, deputy speaker, Rt. Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba commended Barr. Tanko’s loyalty and described his reappointment as a reward for dedication and steadfast service.

She charged the reappointed officials to remain loyal to the government and committed to serving the people, saying, “The reward for good is good.

“The loyalty you have shown to the system and the APC has brought you this far. This reappointment is a call to more service – to the state, to the local government, and to the citizens.”

Following deliberations, the House unanimously approved the reappointment of the Chairman and the three Permanent Commissioners through a voice vote.
