Kogi State commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones, has told contractors renovating schools under the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) project to adhere to approved specifications and standards.

Jones gave the warning during an inspection tour of ongoing renovation works in government-owned schools under the AGILE intervention programme.

The commissioner explained that the inspection was aimed at ensuring that the contractors execute the projects in line with contractual agreements and quality standards.

He stressed that the state government would not tolerate substandard work, urging contractors to maintain professionalism and deliver quality projects that provide a conducive learning environment for students and teachers.

According to him, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo remains committed to revitalising the education sector and improving infrastructure in public schools across the state. He further called on contractors to ensure the timely completion of the projects to meet the expectations of the government and beneficiaries.

The inspection team included the AGILE State Coordinator, Comrade Tijani Oricha; the Special Adviser on Education, Hon. Abdulmalik Abdullahi; the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mr Alabi Albert Bamigbade; and officials of the Ministry and the AGILE project team.
