Kogi State commissioner for Education, Wemi Jones, has opened an Environmental and Social Compliance training for technical service providers under the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) project.
The training, organised by Kogi AGILE, was part of key preparatory steps ahead of the school renovation phase of the World Bank-supported programme.
According to the commissioner, thee training was designed to ensure adherence to environmental safety standards, promote social responsibility and community engagement.
Others include strengthen monitoring and accountability frameworks, guarantee that renovation activities align with World Bank safeguards.
He said the AGILE project aims to improve access to quality education for adolescent girls by upgrading school infrastructure, enhancing learning environments, and promoting inclusive educational opportunities across the state.
“This initiative reflects Kogi State Government’s commitment to delivering sustainable, safe, and impactful educational reforms,” he said.
