The Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Kogi State has elected and inaugurated a new executive team with Segun Salami of Channels TV as the chairman.
The election which was not opposed by other contenders was held at the NUJ Council Secretariat and was conducted by a Credentials Committee and monitored by the State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists.
After the inauguration, Salami thanked the credentials committee for being impartial or sentimental with the discharge of their duties.
He promised that during his time as the chairman, the chapel and its members will be better in terms of welfare and professionalism. He added that the new administration will not spare anyone when it comes to discipline.
Other elected members of the executive team include, Thompson Yamput of News Agency of Nigeria who emerged as the vice chairman, Oyibo Salihu of Blueprint Newspaper was elected as the secretary while Joseph Amedu of Nigeria Standard and Ayobami Omole-Iyagin of LEADERSHIP Newspaper emerged as treasurer and financial secretary of the chapel.
