Kolade, Dokpesi, Others To Get BON Life Achievement Awards

The Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) has concluded arrangements to honour some notable leaders in the broadcast industry with lifetime achievement awards.

Executive Secretary of BON, Dr. Yemisi Bamgbose,  said in a statement yesterday that the organisation at its 76th General Assembly approved the institution of annual awards to recognise, celebrate and reward professional excellence in the country’s broadcasting industry.

Bamgbose  said among those to  be celebrated with the Life Achievements In Broadcasting Awards are:

Dr. Christopher Kolade; Dr. Yemisi Bamgbose, the executive secretary; former managing director, National Broadcasting Corporation; Engr Vincent Maduka, former director general, Nigerian Television Authority (NTA); Mal. Mohammed Ibrahim, former director general of FRCN and NTA.

Also to be celebrated for their contributions to the growth and advancement of broadcasting in Nigeria with Contribution To Broadcasting Awards are: High Chief Dr. Raymond Dokpesi, founder Daar Communications and Mr Michael Ajeigbo, founder, Minaj Broadcasting, Obosi.

In addition, the Nigeria Broadcasting Awards will recognise through posthumous award the meritorious contributions of the following late super stars in the industry; 

Ambassador Segun Olusola, Mr Mike Enahoro, Dahiru Modibbo and Kunle Olasope.

The statement said the celebration of these notable leaders comes at the maiden edition of The Nigeria Broadcasting Awards (TNBA) slated for Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Eko Hotels and Suites beginning from 6pm.

The steering committee of the Nigeria Broadcasting Awards has invited broadcast media houses in the country as well as those who have been shortlisted in various categories to attend the event as scheduled.
