Former Benue State governor, Gabriel Suswam has declared that Kwande intermediate area in Benue North East senatorial zone will produce the governor in 2031 and not 2027,  stating that the people of the state should re-elect Governor Hyacinth Alia in 2027 governorship election to complete his second term and the good works.

Suswam said four years of one term for Alia would not be enough for him to fully complete his transformation across Benue state.

Governor Alia, who is seeking for second term is from Vandeikya local government area, Jechira Federal Constituency, Benue North-East senatorial District and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Michael Aondoakaa hails from Ushongu LGA, Kwande Federal Constituency also from the same zone.

The former governor spoke vehemently during a Town Hall meeting of Governor Alia’s statewide Thank-you tour of Federal Constituencies held in Adikpo, the headquarters of Kwande local government area of the state.

He said all the former governors of the state were re-elected for their second tenures except Rev. Fr. Moses Adasu whom the military coup truncated his administration and Alia should be re-elected.

Suswam who went down memory lane explained that, “The first executive governor of Benue state, Aper Aku was re-elected for second term but military coup truncated the administration and from George Akume in 1999 to Gabriel Suswam to Samuel Ortom, Benue people re-elected us for second terms.

“We should allow Jechira intermediate area in zone A through Governor Hyacinth Alia to complete its two terms. Kwande immediate area should not contest against Alia in 2027 and in 2031 it be the turn of Kwande to produce governor. Governor Alia has performed beyond doubt and there is need to re-elect him” he maintained.

Suswam urged Benue voters to continue standing with Alia and vote him massively in 2027 for more dividends of democracy and development of the state.
