A former Kano State governor and leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has expressed shock and sadness over the reported killing of 162 persons in Woro and Nuku communities of Kwara State.
Kwankwaso, in a statement posted on his verified Facebook page yesterday, described the incident as a “barbaric attack.”
he said that those responsible must not be allowed to continue operating in any part of Nigeria.
“I am deeply saddened and horrified by the reported massacre of at least 162 innocent lives in the communities of Woro and Nuku in Kwara State,” he said.
The former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) blamed the killings on terrorist elements and warned that insecurity was gradually spreading to areas that were previously considered peaceful.
He cautioned the federal government against treating the situation with levity, stressing that violent groups were expanding their reach across the country.
“As I have consistently warned, the Federal Government cannot afford to treat these developments lightly. These violent groups are steadily expanding their reach into regions that were once peaceful and secure,” he stated.
Kwankwaso further noted that the growing insecurity is placing increasing pressure on the nation’s armed forces, calling for urgent and coordinated action to halt the menace.
“With each passing day, the burden on our armed forces grows heavier, and the need for decisive, coordinated action becomes more urgent,” he added.
He extended condolences to the families of those killed, as well as the Kwara State government and residents of the affected communities.
Kwankwaso also prayed for the repose of the victims’ souls and comfort for grieving families.
