Former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the 2023 general elections, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has condemned the brutal mob attack on 16 travelers in Edo State, describing the incident as a “harrowing display of mob injustice.”
Kwankwaso, in a statement posted on his official X handle, expressed deep concern over the incident which occurred on Friday March 28, 2025, at Udune Efandion Community of Uromi, Edo State.
“I am concerned by the harrowing display of mob injustice on 16 travelers from Northern Nigeria in Edo State. This tragedy, which unfolded on March 28, 2025, in the Udune Efandion community of Uromi, is another sad reminder of the barbarity of jungle justice,” he wrote.
The former Kano State Governor emphasised that citizens from all parts of Nigeria should have the freedom to travel without facing harassment or intimidation.
“It is common knowledge that people from all parts of the country should be able to travel without facing any form of harassment or intimidation,” he stated.
Kwankwaso called on authorities to launch a comprehensive investigation into the incident and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.
“I urge the concerned authorities to launch a full-scale investigation into this sad incident and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice,” he added.
He also extended his condolences to the families of the victims, the Kano State Government, and other affected states, praying for the repose of the deceased.
