A parley/discussion of the Kwankwaso National Network (KNN), Southwest Zone, was held yesterday, Tuesday, January 6, 2026, in Ibadan, Oyo State, with the presence of key members of the National Executive and the National Coordinator, Asiwaju Mashood Shittu, Southwest zonal coordinator Hon. Daniel Solomon and all the 6 southwest state coordinators.

This disclosure was made by Abubakar Guda Musa, Deputy Director of Media & Publicity at the Kwankwaso National Network (KNN).

In his address, the National Coordinator explained how the National Leader, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has consistently used his position in public office to positively impact the lives of Nigerians, especially the less privileged across the country. He described Sen. Kwankwaso as a leader of rare quality, noting his track record as a former Governor of Kano State and later as Minister of Defence.

Asiwaju Mashood Shittu highlighted Sen. Kwankwaso’s achievements in the education sector during his tenure as Governor of Kano State. According to him, the administration provided free educational tools, including uniforms, daily meals for pupils, and free education at all levels, from primary to tertiary institutions. He further stated that over 4,000 Nigerian youths were sponsored to study in more than 14 countries abroad, while thousands more were sent to universities within Nigeria, including Igbinedion University, Al-Qalam University, and the American University of Nigeria.

He added that hostel blocks were built and provided free of charge to students in several universities across the country. Calling him the Awolowo of today, the Nnamdi Azikiwe of today, and the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa of today, as well as a leader whose ideology aligns with that of Malam Aminu Kano.

Speaking about Senator Kwankwaso’s time as Minister of Defence, the National Coordinator recalled major reforms in the military, particularly in the salary payment system. He noted that before these reforms, many military personnel faced severe challenges in accessing their salaries, with some reportedly sleeping under bridges while waiting for payment.

According to him, Senator Kwankwaso introduced digital reforms that enabled military personnel to receive their salaries conveniently from any location, thereby improving their welfare and morale. He also stated that security operations improved during that period.

The Southwest Zonal Coordinator, Hon. Daniel Solomon, also spoke at the event, focusing on the theme of mass participation as the beauty of democracy in Nigeria. He explained the meaning of democracy and emphasised the importance of citizens’ participation in the democratic process. He described Senator Kwankwaso as a pathfinder and a leader whose vision all progressive Nigerians should learn from and support.

A Christian cleric, a bishop who also spoke at the parley, commended Senator Kwankwaso, stating that he is following in the footsteps of Nigeria’s past leaders who fought for democracy and good governance in the country.

Additionally, all six state coordinators of the Kwankwaso National Network in the Southwest zone addressed the gathering, expressing their total commitment to the Kwankwaso national movement. They pledged to continue propagating the ideology of the National Leader and to strengthen the movement across the zone.

The parley concluded with brief entertainment by participants, marking a peaceful and successful end to the event.
