The Kwara State House of Assembly passed the Kwara State Freedom of Information Bill 2025 and the Kwara State Water User Association Bill 2025 yesterday.

The two Bills were passed during the plenary following the submission of reports of the House Committees that worked on them.

In their reports, the chairperson of the House Committee on Youths, Sports and Information, Hon. Rukayatu Shitu, and the chairman of the House Committee on Water Resources, Hon. Yinusa Oniboki, said that most of the stakeholders who attended the public hearing organised by the Committees supported the provisions of the bills.

The Bills were thereafter read by the clerk of the House, Alh Ahmed Olayiwola for the third time before the final passage of the two bills.

The speaker of the House, Engr. Yakubu Danladi – Salihu directed the clerk of the House to produce clean copies of the Bills for the governor’s assent.
