Consequently, Governor AbdulRazaq yesterday forwarded the names of two new commissioner-nominees to the State House of Assembly for approval.

The nominees are senior special assistant, Community Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe and senior special assistant, Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), Mariam Nnafatima Imam.

A statement signed by the commissioner for Communications, Mrs Bola Olukoju said the memorandum for the creation of the two new ministries was presented by the acting head of Service, Alh Ibrahim Muhammed during the SEC meeting on Tuesday.

“This move aims to bolster food security and strengthen livestock development across Kwara’s 16 local government areas, refocusing attention on the challenges associated with large-scale livestock farming.

The new ministry will play a crucial role in supporting farmers, herders, processors, and distributors across the livestock value chain, according to the memorandum.

The council approved a proposal to carve out the Ministry of Transportation  from the Ministry of Works and Transport,” the commissioner said.
