The Labour Party in Kwara State has passed a vote of confidence on the party’s embattled national chairman, Barr. Julius Abure, saying the members are solidly behind his leadership.

Members of the caretaker committee for the Labour Party (LP) stated this yesterday after their inauguration in Ilorin, the state capital.

The inauguration of the new executives of LP was supervised by the deputy national secretary of the party, High Chief Kehinde Rotimi.

The event was held at the Labour House inside the secretariat of the state’s chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).

“We are poised to take the party to great levels and committed to ensuring it rules the state by our collective support and God’s help.

“We also want to affirm our support for the leadership of our national chairman, Barr. Julius Abure that we in Kwara State are solidly behind him and we pass a vote of confidence on his leadership of our great party.

“We also extend the same confidence and support for the presidential candidate of our party in the last general elections, Mr Peter Obi and we are hopeful that his mandate wrongfully taken from him as given to him by Nigerians will be recovered back soonest,” Ajibade stated.

Ajibade while expressing delight that Kwara is ably represented at the national leadership cadre of the LP  with the election of the immediate past chairman of the party in the state, High Chief Kehinde Rotimi as the deputy national secretary, also  announced plans to reposition the party in the state
