Reality TV star Kylie Jenner has been hit with a second lawsuit in one week from a former member of her household staff, alleging a hostile work environment and discrimination.
The plaintiff, Juana Delgado Soto, filed the legal claim in the Los Angeles County Superior Court. The lawsuit includes 20 complaints, including racial discrimination, failure to pay wages, and failure to stop harassment.
In court documents, Ms Soto claims she began working for the entrepreneur in 2019. She alleges that her supervisor mocked her accent and immigration status. According to the filing, after reporting the abuse, the plaintiff faced retaliation, including having her pay cut and being forced to work an unreasonable schedule.
The lawsuit also describes an unusual set of rules allegedly imposed by management. Ms Soto claims she was told she was no longer allowed to look at or smile at Jenner and was instructed to disappear whenever the star was nearby.
While Jenner is not personally accused of bullying, the suit argues that as the employer, she is legally responsible for failing to prevent the harassment and mistreatment of her staff.
The former housekeeper is seeking damages for unpaid wages and emotional distress. This latest case adds to the growing legal pressure on the media mogul regarding the treatment of her domestic employees.
