Lagos State Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Pastor Dayo Ekong has said that the party is united in the state without any form of division, urging members of the public to disregard those parading themselves as factional chairman of the party.

Pastor(Mrs) Ekong flanked by members of the state executive, which includes her deputy Mr. Lanre Adenuga, the party’s Secretary Samuel Okpala disclosed this at a press briefing held yesterday at the party’s secretariat in Lagos.

She said as the party is preparing for the federal constituency by- election that will be held in August 17, 2023, pointing out that some unscrupulous people allegedly sponsored by the party in power in the state have started parading themselves as chairman of the party in order to destabilize the party.

She therefore warned aspirants and members of the public against identifying with such people, adding that anybody that chose to identify with such people does it at his or her peril.

Ekong said Labour Party is a credible party, adding that it is the major opposition party in Lagos State presently, saying the party is one and united.

She explained that those who wanted to dance to the tune of the opposition party to create division have been expelled from the party.

“Some things are happening in Lagos State, there are reports of people sponsored by the opposition party, to create the impression there is a faction in our party. We won’t give them that opportunity to destroy the Labour Party. We stand for integrity and what is good for the country.

“Julius Abure remains Labour Party National Chairman, any other person parading himself as National Chairman does so illegally, resist them, don’t join them.”

She maintained that the party is doing everything possible to repose hope in the youth and discourage the idea of them leaving the country in droves.

Pastor Ekong said Labour Party has initiated a programme to train the youth in Skill acquisition in different vocations and even provide opportunities for them to secure loans.
