The Labour Party has set up a reconciliation committee aimed at wooing back aggrieved members, including former party leader, Julius Abure, and his team.

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State, stated this at the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) meeting with stakeholders on Saturday in Abuja.

He said the party expressed regret over the exit of former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, but is not deterred, hence pushing for unity and a stronger force.

“We regret the exit of Peter Obi, but we are working to resolve party issues and become stronger. The party plans to hold congresses from March, leading up to a national convention.” he said

He also announced plans to validate old members and register new members, with a committee set up to oversee the process.

“Our Party may not participate in the FCT area council election but we plan to participate strongly in other polls,”  Otti said.
