The reality TV show Ladies of London: The New Reign, which premiered recently, is facing turmoil at the moment, with its star, Dara Huang, abruptly leaving the show while hosting dinner for the cast at London’s Ivy Asia.
According to media reports, minutes into the reality TV launch, a rumour that she was a Madame, as well as backbiting her best friend, Myka Meier, was making the rounds. Things got intense, finding herself in the middle of drama all through the two hours of television.
The drama unfolded when Missè Bequiri, a member of the cast, resolved to confront Dara with the accusation. Dara denied it all. However, she left the table looking ill at ease with her mic picking up on her confession to one of the producers that she actually said those things about her best friend.
“I don’t think I’m made for this, babe,” she was heard saying. “I’m not made for this. This is not me. Like, I love Myka, but she doesn’t have, like, my experience being thrown under a bus. I did say those things,” she said in the end.
Later, when she returned to the table, the other women kept talking about the issue with Dara, who finally said “cut” three times as things escalated.
She said she needed to step out. “I’m really sorry to disappoint everybody, but I just, I just don’t think this is for me, you know? This is not for me,” she noted.
As a Madame, Dara had told the women, “I’m an architect. I run two businesses. Let’s just have an amazing dinner and just move on.”
The reality programme will continue with Myka Meier, Missé Beqiri, Kimi Murdoch, Lottie Kane, Martha Sitwell, Margo Stilley, Emma Thynn, and Mark-Francis Vandelli.
