The federal government has approved the commencement of section 3 and Section 4 of Lagos-calabar coastal project, saying the project will quicken returns on investment and drive investment corridors for trans-border trade across the geopolitical zones in the country.

Minister of works, Engr. Dave Umahi gave the assertion while addressing stakeholders’ meeting on compensation and Environmental Impact Assessment on the Lagos-calabar coastal project.
Umahi said the federal government is committed to link road connectivity and drive National Road Network Programme as a way of strengthening economic reforms and improving the ease of doing business in the country.

Umahi applauded the efforts of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration while calling on economic stakeholders to support the government, stating that the project is Tinubu’s lasting legacy in office.

He further noted that the government had approved the 1000 kilometres Sokoto-Badagry highway road spur stretching towards Kebbi, Sokoto, Uyo, Badagry and Lagos adding that the road stretches along dams and power generation systems.
