U-Meleni Mhlaba-Adebo, the event ambassador for the 10th edition of the annual Lagos Women Run, has emphasised the numerous benefits couples can gain from running or walking together. Reflecting on her experience from the previous year’s race, she highlighted the event as an excellent opportunity to gain further insight into Lagos State while also enhancing her own relationship through running.
The Zimbabwean-American runner, who has participated in various road races worldwide, expressed her excitement about being part of the Lagos Women Run in 2024 alongside her husband, a Nigerian of Yoruba descent.
Speaking at a press conference to promote the upcoming race, Mhlaba-Adebo urged women to join her on November 5 for a symposium aimed at empowering women. During the session, she will explore the impact of running on relationships.
“I a very excited to share insights on marathons and marriage. I have been running with my husband for 16 years,” she stated. “For those interested in learning how to balance relationships with marathons and what we can learn from running to enhance our connections, this talk is for you. It’s going to be interactive and fun.”
Mhlaba-Adebo invited attendees to join her on November 5 at 11 a.m., looking forward to welcoming over 8,000 women who will participate in the race on November 8.
The 10th edition of the Lagos Women Run is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 8, in Lagos.
