Indigenes of Ohafia South constituency of Abia State living outside the state have been urged to use the Christmas season to visit the state to witness the ongoing transformations in the state under Governor Alex Otti
The member representing the constituency in the State House of Assembly, Kalu Mba Nwoke made the appeal, yesterday, while speaking to LEADERSHIP Sunday in Umuahia, the state capital, .ahead of the festive season.
Nwoke, who is the chairman of the House Committee on Environment and Urban Renewal, said the transformations are better witnessed firsthand hence the need for them to come home.
”Are we talking about the multiple ongoing and completed projects, which include roads, bridges, markets, electricity, health facilities, school and public buildings among others.
”Or human capital development, prompt payment of salaries and pension, employments, intervention on federal roads and the prevailing security of lives and property” he argued.
Speaking further Nwoke appealed to the people to avoid any acts that would be inimical to the spirit of the season in particular and the development of the constituency in general.
”As we all are aware, this is our constituency and it behoves us to ensure it continues on its present development trajectory. We can’t afford to return it to the dark days of the past.”
”We must take ownership of and continue to protect the infrastructure and facilities no matter how little just we will continue to ask the state government for more,” he added.
The erstwhile deputy leader of 4th Ohafia Legislative Council, used the opportunity to wish the people in general a happy Christmas and prosperous New Year ahead.
