Leadership Institute Nigeria, in partnership with the African Leadership Institute (USA), is set to convene a gathering of distinguished leaders and changemakers to engage in high-level discussions on leadership, governance, and Africa’s global relevance.
The annual leadership lecture, panel discussion, leadership excellence awards, and appeal fund will be held on Thursday, 11th December 2025, at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja.
The event is being organised under the theme: “Africa at the Crossroads: Redefining Leadership for Global Relevance.”
Senator Ambassador Professor Iyorwuese Hagher, President of the Leadership Institute Nigeria, stated in a press release that the Annual Leadership Lecture will bring together eminent national thinkers, policy influencers, senior public servants, development practitioners, security experts, business leaders, and civil society actors.
He noted that the keynote address would be delivered by Justice Cheryl Grant, a renowned United States jurist and global leadership advocate, whose work spans judicial excellence, democratic governance, and leadership development across continents.
The programme will feature a panel discussion examining leadership across governance, national security, economic development, institutional reform, and public service, offering practical, policy-oriented insights on strengthening leadership and institutions in Nigeria and across Africa.
A significant highlight of the event, he said, will be the Leadership Excellence Awards Ceremony, which will recognise distinguished Nigerian leaders whose contributions exemplify ethical leadership, integrity, courage, and measurable impact in governance and public leadership, security and peacebuilding, economic development, institutional reform, and public service.
Hagher said, “The event will be held under the distinguished leadership of Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, Chairman of the Event, and Mrs Farida Waziri, OChairlady of the Event.
“The programme will also feature an Appeal Fund dedicated to rebuilding and restoring educational access and facilities for internally displaced children in Benue State. This humanitarian initiative reflects the organisers’ commitment to translating leadership ideals into tangible impact for vulnerable communities.
“Funds raised will support the rehabilitation of learning spaces, provision of educational materials, and restoration of access to quality education for children affected by displacement and insecurity.”
Founded in 2001, Leadership Institute Nigeria has remained at the forefront of leadership development across Africa.
Through its partnership with the African Leadership Institute (USA), the Annual Leadership Lecture continues to foster international collaboration, shared values, and principled leadership.
