Vice-Chancellor, Osun State University (UNIOSUN), Prof. Odunayo Clement Adebooye, has charged the 678 postgraduate students of the ivory tower to ensure their research addresses real societal challenges.
At the 11th matriculation of postgraduate students of the institution yesterday, the vice chancellor, tasked the students to let their research work address real societal challenges and make their ideas transform communities.
“At Osun State University, we provide you with an enabling environment, experienced faculty, and the necessary academic support to excel. However, your success will ultimately depend on your dedication, discipline, and integrity”.
“The world today is in dire need of innovative thinkers, problem solvers, and ethical leaders. Let your research address real societal challenges. Let your ideas transform communities. Let your contributions make a difference”.
He warned matriculating students against all forms of academic misconduct, adding that they should uphold the highest standards of scholarship and let their work speak for them.
The vice chancellor encouraged the students to be focused, resilient, and purposeful, noting that the journey may be demanding but will undoubtedly be rewarding.
Adebooye noted that the university is committed to maintaining a stable, uninterrupted academic calendar by ensuring that its students graduate as and when due, a defining feature of the institution.
This, according to him, was not achieved by accident but the result of deliberate planning, disciplined execution, and a shared vision of excellence.
