The new chairman of Fune local government area of Yobe State, Hon Alhaji Baba Goni Bade, has appealed to the newly sworn-in 13 councillors and party members to support his administration in order to make Fune greater.
Hon Bade made the call during the swearing-in ceremony of 13 new councillors who were elected during the June 8 local government election in the state.
He said with the co-operation of the councillors, stakeholders, traditional rules and residents, his administration would be able to achieve it’s mission of delivering dividends of democracy and restoring the lost glory of Fune.
“Let me tell you that, if we work together as a team, we will restore the lost glory of Fune as the best local government among the others. We promise we will do more for the interest of our people” he said.
The chairman assured that his administration would work tirelessly to ensure increase in internally generated revenue in Fune local government to enable his administration projects that would impact positively on residents.
He charged them to be good ambassadors of their respective wards and tasked to work in tandem with purpose through which they were elected.
Bade, however called on the people not to put undue pressure and unnecessary demand on them saying they just came on board to serve the good people of the local government.
He called on the masses to continue giving their support and maximum cooperation to the governor Buni’s administration in order to move the state forward.
Those who spoke with journalists after the swearing-in, called on the newly inaugurated councillors to work in line with the confidence that their constituents reposed in them.
