Liberia seeks to strengthen bilateral relations with Nigeria through its first Trade and Investment Forum, scheduled for 15 July at the Continental Hotel in Lagos.

The forum, Forumd ‘Building Bridges for Shared Prosperity: Strengthening Liberia-Nigeria Trade and Investment Partnership’, will convene Liberian and Nigerian government officials, investors, development partners, and private-sector leaders to explore new and improved opportunities for trade, investment, and strategic collaboration.

However, special focus will be given to areas of potential growth and development, such as agriculture and agribusiness, energy, technology, mining, the digital economy, and tourism.

Nigerian businesses, investors, and institutions seeking to expand into new markets or explore strategic partnerships are urged to participate in the event, which will feature activities like sector-focused deal sessions, business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) networking sessions, as well as a session between Nigerian-Liberian policymakers and regulators with the Nigerian private sector industry.

Speaking of the event, the Honorary Consul of Liberia to Nigeria, Mr Dapo Akinosun, said that the forum, organised by the Liberian government via its embassy and the Office of the Consul General both in Nigeria, comes at a time when Africa is actively exploring and expanding its potential for a stronger and sustainable economic growth on the continent via the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

The forum, Forumid, underscores both nations’ commitment to advancing economic cooperation in the continental and West African regions by leveraging their complementary strengths.

“The Liberia-Nigeria Trade and Investment Forum represents more than a bilateral engagement; it is a strategic platform for building lasting partnerships that will unlock investment, facilitate knowledge exchange, and accelerate economic transformation for both nations. By bringing together our governments and private sectors, we are creating opportunities that will deliver tangible economic value and shared prosperity.”
