Okwuonu who stated this while speaking to LEADERSHIP in Umuahia, described library as very critical for the educational development of every society.

He stressed that parents, guardians, and schools should encourage their children, wards, and pupils/students to cultivate the culture of reading and to always make use of libraries.

He lauded the present administration’s education policies which includes introduction of free compulsory basic education, describing the policy as a huge financial relief for parents and guardians.

The librarian also expressed optimism that the governor, Alex Otti would extend his administration’s ongoing retrofitting programme to the state library board as well.
