Lookman On Target As Atletico Madrid Thrash Sevilla 3-1

Ademola Lookman scored his first La Liga goal for Atletico Madrid as Diego Simeone’s side swept aside Sevilla 3-1 on Saturday to move to the top of the table.

Atletico produced a devastating first-half display at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan, racing into a three-goal lead before the break and putting the contest firmly beyond Sevilla’s reach.

Alejandro Baena opened the scoring after just four minutes, finishing from Lee Kang-in’s assist to give the visitors an early advantage.

Late bookings for Sevilla’s Isaac Romero and Gabriel Suazo could not change the outcome as Atletico secured a convincing away victory.

The result takes Simeone’s side to seven points from their opening three matches, sending them to the summit of La Liga and underlining their strong start to the campaign.
