Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has received a reduced 15-month suspended sentence from a Greek court. This follows a retrial concerning an incident on Mykonos in August 2020.
Initially, in 2020, Maguire was given a 21-month and 10-day suspended sentence after being found guilty of multiple charges, including bodily harm and attempted bribery. His legal team immediately appealed, nullifying the conviction and leading to a full retrial.
After several postponements between 2023 and 2025, the retrial in Syros concluded on Wednesday. Maguire was found guilty of non-serious assault, resisting arrest, and attempted bribery. Due to the reduced severity of these findings, his sentence was lessened to 15 months.
Maguire, who has consistently sought to clear his name legally, is currently with the Manchester United squad for their Premier League game against Newcastle United.
